On the larger islands, you can get around by Le Truck, the local picturesque jeepney with a brightly coloured paintjob, or by bus or taxi. For greater freedom, you can also rent a car, a 4x4 or a scooter from any of the numerous local rental agencies or directly at your hotel's front desk.

Depending on the island, you can also get around by bicycle or on horseback and discover places that are inaccessible by car.

Finally, speedboats and canoes are sometimes the best way to get around, especially to reach a motu (sandy islet) or a pearl farm.
