Tiare Flower

Flower in their haiir

You are here : Discover Paradise > Culture > Tiare Flower

In this fertile soil everything grows, changes and produces the most beautiful tropical specimens.

We could start with the queen of all Tahitian flowers for its purity and its fragrance: the “Tiare

Tahiti”, a variety of gardenia that graces the hair of the lovely Tahitian women, which is to be seen in every garden and which is valued for use in leis and floral head-wear at celebration time.

"The flower is worn in the hair"

The Tahitian are really attached to the Tiare, and it is always worn in behind the ear or attached with many flowers into floral crowns.

The tradition shows that if a flower is worn on behind the left ear means that his love is taken, on the opposite ear side means that the heart is vacant for love. However, if a Tahitian waves the Tiare behind his head, it means "Follow me"
