Tere ‘A’ati - Rurutu

Cultural and historical event on Rurutu in the Austral Islands featuring a long walk with stops at ancestral sites (archeological sites and cliffs, etc.), the three villages (Moerai, Avera and Auti) and a visit to various homes where guests receive this island’s traditional greeting, a shower of thrown talcum powder, custom specific to the inhabitants of the island.

Tere Faati - Tahiti

A day long tour around Papeete in a "truck" (traditional bus) during which participants sing to the sound of the 'ukulele. This is how the new year and abundant seasons were celebrated in the past. Several stops on the program include visits to cultural and natural sites with delicious traditional lunches including "ma'a" local food prepared by the Mamas. It is a rare, authentic and fun event looking into the Tahiti of today and yesteryear.

Tahiti - Moorea Marathon - Moorea

Experts consider this marathon, which is held in Temae on the island of Moorea, as one of the finest in the world with over 500 entrants from many countries. First Aid, refreshment and sponge stations located every 2.5 km and Tahitian music will be provided along the different ways (42, 21 and 5 km), and at the finish line. This event also offers participants and the public the opportunity to enjoy the island’s exceptional setting.

Taputapuatea Festival - Raiatea

Named "Te Ana Iva PuFe’eMa’ohiTereMoana", which means "The Octopus’ Nine Tentacles that Glide on the Ocean", this event traces the history of Polynesian migrations and the uniting of South Pacific islands to Raiatea, the sacred island, by presenting various ceremonies and ancestral customs.

Walking on fire "Umu ti" - Tahiti

First event of Heiva i Tahiti (see below), the fire walk or "Umu ti" takes place in Mahana Park on the West coast of Tahiti. Arranged by priest Raymond Terrierooiterai, this authentic ceremony exists since the dawn of time and gathers many fascinated attendees around this amazing ancestral event. Further to incantations, volunteers follow the priest walking on white-hot stones, where temperature can reach up to 1,000°C. Supervised and safe, the experience is open to all, including children.

Agricultural Fair - Tahiti

It is about the biggest local agricultural event. Commemoration of WW1 centenial and bombing of the city of Papeete

From 15th September to 25 October 2014, the city of Papeete will commemorate the centenial of Papeete's bombing by the Germans during WW1. Military and religious ceremonies along with historical exhibitions will be held at the city hall of Papeete, the public market, the Cathedral, the Chamber of Commerce and in various city galleries. A reenactment day, a 1900s fashion show and multilingual city walks (in Tahitian, French, English, Japanese, Spanish and Italian) will also be organized.

Sail Tahiti Yacht Rally - 2015

From 27th September to 09 October the Sail Tahiti Yacht Rally is a charter boat rally to dream about: Truly tropical, spectacular scenery, a sea with blues and greens you simply cannot catch on camera, sailing on flat seas with some fun racing to add a little more excitement, snorkelling in water with a temperature just five degrees below the air temperature, great food, great people and a rally with a social dimension impossible to put a price on.

Bounty Festival Tahiti - Tahiti

The Bounty threw anchor on the 26th October in the early 1800s in Matavai bay, Tahiti. The ship was on a mission to collect young bread fruit trees upon the British Empire's request. Since, several generations have re interpreted this extraordinary and epic event. This event aims at re-building a replica of the Bounty.

The purpose of the festival is to maintain and celebrate Marquesan culture and welcomes delegations from Hawaii, Samoa, New Zealand, Tahiti and Easter Island... An intense and rare event which one will want to experience if you are drawn by the magic of Marquesan culture.
